Open-Health’s mission is to create a collaborative environment where stakeholders working in the health industry can jointly develop processes and technologies that support "next generation" information management tools. Our objective is to create a platform where existing workflow, EMR, and decision support tools can be used seamlessly by practitioners treating patients in a patient-centric environment. Open-Health’s objective is to assist ICT manufacturers by developing processes and technical standards that support the integration of existing tools through electronic data exchange between custodians (e.g. between clinics, pharmacies, and health regions).

Our goal is to enable “Tools of Choice”, an environment where clinicians can select the tools they want from an innovative and commercially competitive business sector. To achieve this goal, Open-Health is actively involved with:
  • Building stakeholder awareness of next generation eHealth processes
  • Modelling future-state business processes
  • Integrating sector-wide information solutions
  • Commercializing data standards and transaction sets
  • Defining network connectivity and data exchange principles
  • Assisting manufacturers to integrate and test their new products and services

Open-Health works with industry, medical researchers, and health organizations to integrate workflow processes, patient records, and clinical best practices. Open-Health is directly involved with research and product development activities related to eHealth and information exchange.
